New Plugins released: OPTRON3A and Solid4010

Just finished 2 new plugins!

The first one, OPTRON 3A, is an opto-style compressor with a specific processing behavior ranging from soft leveling to rather hard, squashing compression. Its very useful for compressing solo tracks such as vocals, guitars, drums synths or other instruments.

Here's my new plugin: 10EQ Graphic Equalizer. It's based API 560 (500 series version). 10 EQ bands. Proportional Q design. Good for mixing. Good for mastering. Good for everything.

ThrillerEQ v1.3 - Major Update!

I've finally finished a major update of my plugin ThrillerEQ! It features a new output section (Brickwall limiter, level control), the filter characteristics have been updated as well (switchable shelf/peak filters). I've also tried to improve CPU performance, it works fine for me, so I hope, you'll be as content with it as I am :D I'm pretty tired from working on it, so i'm not going to write about every detail that has been changed or updated, it's all in the manual... ;)

Q: Any chance of some OSX versions?

Well unfortunately, since I'm a Vista user and have no experience with OS X/writing OS X plugins, it's not possible. Maybe if you find someone, who can port plugins made with Synthmaker to OS X ;)

Q: Any plans for Pro Tools LE/M-powered version?

Same answer, I have no experience with writing ProTools plugins either...

I've tested the first version before releasing with FL Studio 9, Adobe Audition and VST Analyzer, CPU usage was fine. However, some people told me that they had CPU problems using ThrillerEQ. I hope, this update will fix this problem. Please write me, if you still have some problems with the plugin, i'll try to fix it...

NEW PLUGIN: ChiefGEQ

Here's my second plugin: CHIEF Graphic Equalizer. It's an emulation of the BOSS GE-7 Equalizer. It is the most popular guitar
pedal equalizer. But despite of the fact that it is a pedal effect, it can be also used for other
purposes. Since the plugin version does not generate noise, humming or other unwanted sound
artefacts small pedal effects usually do, it can be even used for certain mixing or mastering
purposes, especially when no surgical precision is needed (For example, when you just want to
quickly cut the mids or boost high or low frequencies)

Features:
– 7 bands of adjustable EQ sliders
– Allows for boost/cut of up to +/- 15dB per band
– 100Hz band and 6.4kHz band have shelving curves, the other bands are peaking
– Level control

An updated version of ThrillerEQ is available. Main changes are:

- Problem with host automation/preset saving has been fixed
- 7 internal presets have been added: Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Kick Drum, Snare Drum, Overheads, Mastering, Subtle Brightness
- Two switches have been added: EQ IN and H/LP IN. Both sections can be bypassed separately
- All filter curves have been improved, Lo band is much wider

I'm already working on a second update, but i think it will take a little longer until it's finished

My first VST Plugin, modeled after the GREAT RIVER / HARRISON 32 EQ 4-Band Equalizer. These equalizers were used in Harrison 32 Consoles, on which countless hit records were produced, including Abba, Queen and Michael Jackson. It was used by Bruce Swedien in the recording and mixing of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, the best-selling album of all time!

Features:

- 3 Peak EQ-bands with Gain and Frequency controls (Low, Low-Mid, Hi-Mid)
- Hi Shelf Band
- High- and Low-pass filters with sweepable frequency

It's not an exact copy of the actual gear (Peak band curves are a bit different, some switches had been removed), but besides of these minor changes almost all parameters of the plugin are the same.

Technical data:

Hi Shelf - 800 Hz to 16 kHz (+/- 12dB)

Hi-Mid Peak - 400 Hz to 8 kHz (+/- 12dB)

Lo-Mid Peak - 200 Hz to 4 kHz (+/- 12dB)

Lo Peak - 40 Hz to 800 Hz (+/- 12dB)

HP: 25 Hz to 2.75 kHz/ LP: 160 Hz to 20 kHz
